Chana church has books for free

Popular chicken noodle dinner is a drive-thru on Oct. 3

The Chana Library and Chana PROMISE are hosting a book carnival “The Great Book Giveaway” on Saturday, Sept. 26 with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and running to 1 p.m.

The carnival will be housed at Chana United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. The fair is for kids of all ages and young adults.

It offers more than 2,000 new or slightly used library-type books which have all been sanitized and are free.

All participants can receive multiple books. Entry to the fair is open to all local residents and requires a mask. 

The church is also hosting its Chicken Noodle Drive Thru Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4-6:30 p.m.

The cost of the dinner is $10 and includes a hearty portion of homemade (from scratch) noodles and chicken, a generous serving of homegrown squash casserole, and freshly made warm orchard apple crisp.

Chana UMC is a certified kitchen and is COVID-19 compliant.
