April 22

Michael A. Olson, 63, of Oregon, was issued a citation at 9:35 a.m. for no valid registration. This violation occurred in the 400 block of W. Washington Street.

April 24

At 12:45 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in the 300 block of W. Washington Street involving a 2017 Jeep driven by LaCinda S. Bunger, 63, of Oregon, and a parked 2004 Cadillac belonging to Diana L. Klapp, 69, of Stillman Valley. Bunger was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

April 25

At 5:19 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash in the parking lot of lower Park West where a 2019 Freightliner school bus driven by David O. Engelbrecht, 71, of Leaf River, struck a parked 2016 Nissan belonging to Paolo Carillo, 41, of Oregon. No citations were issued.

April 27

At 11:59 a.m., police were called to Snyder’s Ace Hardware to investigate a retail theft. Following the investigation, Carlson W. Jones, 29, of Mt. Morris, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft and left in the custody of the Ogle County corrections officers.

One verbal/written warning was issued from April 22 through April 28.
