The Oregon Park District is offering a day trip on Thursday, May 9 to the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens in Rockford.
Visitors will be surrounded by live butterflies in the tropical conservatory and can see the entire butterfly life cycle including butterflies emerging from their chrysalis in the emergence area.
Entry to the conservatory, a guided tour and transportation is included in price.
Transportation will leave Nash Recreation Center at 1 p.m. and return by 5 p.m. The fee is $11 for residents of the park district and $13 for non-residents.
The deadline to register for this trip is Thursday, May 2.
