Two people rescued after car is swept into creek at White Pines State Park

Firefighters pull a car from the water in White Pines State Park on Wednesday night after it was swept into Pine Creek while crossing the ford at approximately 7 p.m. No one was injured, but firefighters from Polo and Dixon Rural rescued two people and a dog from the car. The vehicle, which had Indiana license plates, was swept into the creek after heavy rains caused flash flooding. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Ogle County Sheriffs Office assisted at the scene. No further details were available Wednesday night.
