FFA held annual banquet in March

Several awards were given at the Forreston FFA chapter’s annual banquet on March 22 in the Forreston High School cafeteria. 

The dinner is held annually to recognize members and friends of the FFA for their achievements throughout the school year. 

Nearly 100 members and guests attended the potluck dinner and program.

A number of awards were given out during the ceremonies. 

Megan Hagemann was given the Star Greenhand Award and Aaron Wubbena was presented with the Star Sophomore Award. 

Brooklynn Hollis was given the Star Junior Award and Michael Wubbena earned the DeKalb Award.

The Forreston FFA Alumni presents scholarships each year to FFA members that have been active chapter members as well as maintaining a high level of scholastic achievement. 

The scholarship is based on FFA activities, college major, and academics. 

Sheyania Hughes, Ross Behrends, and Michael Wubbena were presented with $750 scholarships by alumni vice-president Emily Newcomer. 

These three students were also awarded the Forreston FFA Senior Scholarship in the amount of $250 each. 

Wubbena also received the Bocker-Ruff Grain Scholarship.

At the close of the banquet, new Forreston FFA officers for the 2017-2018 school year were installed. 

The new co-presidents are Brooklynn Hollis and Danielle Hagemann. 

The vice-president is Hailey Kruse and the secretary will be Aaron Wubbena. 

The chapter treasurer for next year is Jacob Green, the reporter is Brandon Skoglund, the sentinel is Aiden Kuhn, and the historian is Megan Hagemann. 

The Forreston FFA members would like to thank the Forrestville Valley school administration, the Forrestville Valley staff, their parents, and the Forreston FFA Alumni for all they do on behalf of the organization.
