Richard Charles Krizan

Richard Charles Krizan, 94, Oregon died Friday January 29, 2010 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris.

He was born Dec. 22, 1915 in Chicago, the son of Julius H. and Velda Christofferson Krizan.

He married Helen Kindred and she died in 1988.

Richard was a member of St. Stephens Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chicago, until it’s recent closure, and also attended Oregon United Methodist Church.

He was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1943-1946 in Japan and Germany, retired postal clerk from the main US Post Office in Chicago, and was an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his special friend, Betty Brunner, Oregon; nieces, Donna (James) Kent, La Porte, Ind., and Cathy (Sam) Plemmons, Palm Coast, Fla.; nephews, Arthur (Doris) Ritter, Munising, Mich., and William (Corrine) Nowak, Florissant, Mo.; and another special friend, Darlene Dirksen, Oregon. 

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Herbert and Julius; and sisters, Arline and Florence. 

Funeral services were held on Feb. 2 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, with Rev. Yong Min Hong, officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris. 

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Oregon United Methodist Church.
