Mildred  “Millie” Jacobson, 83, Hartford, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at North Port DCH Hospital, North Port, Ala.

She was born Oct. 13 ,1926 in Mt. Morris, the daughter of James and Mildred (Lowe) Rouse.

She was united in marriage to Dewayne Jacobson on May 4, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church,  Mt. Morris.

She raised her family in Mt. Morris and resided for 73 years before moving to Hartford, Wis., in 2001.
 
Survivors include a son, Terry (Pamela) Jacobson, North Port, Ala.; a daughter, Shari (Marv) Summers, Hartford, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Amy (Tony Rayhorn), North Port, Ala., Jennifer ( Brian) Kantarik, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Seth (Dolores) Jacobson. Hackensack, N.J., Stacia (Troy) Fassbender, Slinger, Wis., Jason (Rachel Hesprich) Summers, Richfield , Wis., Elisa (Mazen Rezk) Summers, Bayside, Wis., and Stephanie (Joe) Thurin, Hartford, Wis.; 15 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Finnlay, Esai, Andres, Eric, Adam, Tony, Jack, Will, Samy, Jake, Maya, Kyler, and Beckett; two sisters, Arlene McGee, Jacksonville, Fla. and Alma (Hubert) Daily, Mt. Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewayne; brothers, Gene and James; and sister, Barbara.
  
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 4:30 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford, Wis. 

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the funeral home.

Work on Illinois 2 north of Oregon is underway.  IDOT held a public open house about the project Feb. 25 at NASH Recreation Center, Oregon.  Along Illinois 2, crews were out removing trees throughout the week.
