Edward S. Grabins

Edward S. Grabins, 88, Oak Lawn, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010.

He was past scoutmaster at Washington Heights Church, Chicago, and a Boy Scout representative for Mt. Morris.

He was a member of the Oak Lawn Senior Center and Oak Lawn Senior Club.

He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union 115 and 73.

He is survived by a son, Garry (Gail) Grabins, Leaf River; a daughter, Gail (Alan) Gorecki, Oak Lawn; six grandchildren, Scott (Carol) Grabins, Eric (Ann) Grabins, Holly (Shawn) Warbiany, Joy Gorecki, Carole (Bill) Fitzgerald, and Christy Gorecki; seven great-grandchildren, Ryley, Chase, Connor, Logan, Amelia Jae, Grant, and Madelyn; a brother, John (the late Shirley) Grabinski; and a brother-in-law Joe (Gladys) Peters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Peters Grabins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Faith Church, 9411 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn.

Lying in state will be held Jan. 30 from 10  to 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 29 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn.
