Forreston advances to regional final

Forreston advanced to the finals of the 1A Earlville Volleyball Regional with a 25-16, 25-12 win over Earlville on Oct. 30.

Alexus Houston led Forrston with 11 kills followed by Lauren Melton with seven. Brooke Boettner had 23 assists and Kara Erdmann had 14 digs for the Lady Cardinals.

Foreston will play Fulton for the regional championship on Thursday, Oct. 31. Match time is 6 p.m. The winner of the Earlville Regional will play the winner of the Dakota Regional on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Pecatonica Sectional.

The volleyball season ended on Wednesday, Oct. 30 for the Lady Marcos who fell 16-25, 19-25 to Eastland at 1A Eastland Regional in Lanark.

Individual leaders for Polo were: Addy Grobe, three kills, one assist, five digs; Alex Dusing, one block, three assists, seven digs; Becca Wagner, one ace, three kills, 10 digs; Mallory Patterson, two kills, eight assists, 11 digs; Marah Blake, six kills, three blocks, four digs; and Nicole Boelens, one ace, one kill, two assists, and 15 digs.

Eastland and Sterling Newman play for the regional title on Thursday, Oct 31. The winner of the Eastland Regional faces the winner of the East Dubuque Regional at the Pecatonica Sectional.
