Mary Jane Belha, 81, of Oregon, peacefully died on Thursday, Aug.15, 2019 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for many years. Mary Jane was born April 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was adopted as an infant by Roy and Emma Arnold, of Sterling.
She was a 1956 graduate of Sterling Newman High School and attended college in Colorado.
Mary Jane married Carl Belha on Jan. 3, 1959 in Sterling; he died on Nov. 24, 2017.
Together they farmed in Lyndon before finally settling in Oregon in 1962.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon.
She is survived by her brother, William Arnold, of Sterling, and eight nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Christine Marie.
Christian funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon with Rev. Joseph Naill as celebrant.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sterling.
No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Hospice of Rochelle.
