July 2

Eric Post, 26, of Byron, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 12:33 p.m. in the 1,000 block of North Meridian Road for an equipment violation. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

July 3

Deputies responded to a car versus motorcycle accident at 11:44 p.m. at the intersection of Illinois 26 and Freeport Road.  

A vehicle driven by James Mumford, 72, of Windsor, was turning left onto Illinois 26 from Freeport Road when it entered the path of a southbound motorcycle driven by Justin Burton, 34, of Forreston.  

Burton was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by Forreston EMS and was later flown to Mercy Hospital in Rockford for treatment of injuries.

Mumford and a passenger in his vehicle, Joyce Mumford, 69, also of Windsor, were transported to FHN Hospital, Freeport, by Polo EMS for treatment of injuries.  

James Mumford was cited for failure to yield. The accident remains under investigation.

Paul Washington III, 29, of Rockford, was arrested for possession of controlled substance after a traffic stop at 8:10 p.m. in the 2,000 block of South Illinois 251 for an equipment violation. The Ogle County K-9 Unit assisted with the investigation. Washington was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

July 4

Paul Perez, 25, of Hillcrest, was arrested for domestic battery after deputies were dispatched at 12:42 a.m. to an address in the 400 block of Wayne Road in Hillcrest for a domestic dispute. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Ryan Harleman, 41, of Stillman Valley was arrested for driving while license revoked after a traffic stop at 9:25 a.m. in the 3,000 block of South Chana Road. He was also ticketed for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle and was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Tabitha Vanbuskirk, 24, of Dixon, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 2:07 p.m. in the 2,000 block of North River Road. She was also ticketed for operating an uninsured vehicle and was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. 

Dante Victum, 23, of Dixon, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 7:10 p.m. for speeding on Interstate 88 at mile marker 75 eastbound. He was also ticketed for speeding, no insurance, and possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

Laura Madden, 55, of Leaf River, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 8:40 p.m. in the 400 block of East Third Street in Leaf River. She was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

July 5

Ethan Horlock, 25, of Sycamore, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 12:49 a.m. in the 100 block of East First Avenue in Rochelle for an equipment violation. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Stacey Fiala, 52, of Kings, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 9:43 p.m. on Illinois 64 at Mulford Road. She also received citation for no insurance and was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Deputies responded at 1:48 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Flagg and Chana Roads.  

A vehicle driven by Robin Piper, 63, of Dixon, was eastbound on Flagg Road and failed to yield at the stop sign, traveling through the intersection at Chana Road, where it was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Edward Travis, 55, of Chana.  

Piper was transported by Ashton ambulance to KSB Hospital, Dixon, for treatment of minor injuries.  

Travis refused treatment for minor injuries at the scene. 

Piper was issued a citation for failure to yield. The accident remains under investigation.  

July 6

Deputies responded at 12:57 p.m. to a single motorcycle accident in the 10,500 block of North Illinois 2.  

A motorcycle driven by Jerry L. Dilday, 68, of Mt. Morris, was southbound when he was struck by a falling tree, sending him and the motorcycle off the west side of the road way.  

He was then transported by Byron ambulance to the Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, where he was treated for minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

Deputies were called at 5:11 p.m. to the 4100 block of West Illinois 64 to investigate a minor property damage accident. 

Driver Kenneth Adams, 58, of Mt. Morris, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. 

He was transported to KSB Hospital, Dixon, due issues not related to the accident. Adams was given and I-bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 7.

July 7

Hunter Diamond, 27, of Byron, was arrested for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 2:10 p.m. in the 1,000 block of West Mud Creek Road for a moving violation. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

July 8

Tyrus Holland, 29, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license revoked after a traffic stop at 8:18 p.m. on I-39 at mile marker 102 for a traffic violation. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Deputies were dispatched at 7 p.m. to the 3,600 block of North Freeport Road for a single vehicle accident. 

A vehicle driven by a male juvenile was northbound on Freeport Road and went out of control causing it to travel into the eastbound ditch.  

The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was issued citations for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was later released to a parent.

Pines Automotive assisted in removing the vehicle.

Bryan Allen, 56, of Bellevue, Iowa, was arrested for felony driving while license suspended-BAIID (breath alcohol ignition interlock device) required, felony possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 5:26 p.m. in the 5,000 block of South Freeport Road. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Henry Contreras, 57, of Rockford, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. He was released from the Ogle County Jail on a $1,000 recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26.
