Sentencings

Matthew S. Steder, 28, Mt. Morris, pleaded guilty June 24 to attempted possession of a weapon by a felon. Judge Robert Hanson ordered him to pay fines and costs of $250.

Edward Rocha, 30, Beloit, pleaded guilty June 26 to delivery of a controlled substance. Judge Robert Hanson sentenced him to 180 days in jail, which is remittable upon successful completion of 36 months probation

Hanson also ordered him to submit to DNA testing and random drug testing, cooperate with and satisfactorily complete psychological or substance abuse assessments or treatment as recommended, and pay total fines and costs of $8,308.

A second count of delivery of a controlled substance was dismissed pursuant to plea agreement.

David Coil, 32, Rochelle, pleaded guilty June 26 to two counts of possession of a controlled substance. 

Judge Robert Hanson sentenced him to 90 days in jail, which is remittable upon successful completion of 24 months probation.

Hanson also ordered him to submit to DNA testing and random drug testing, cooperate with and satisfactorily complete psychological or substance abuse assessments or treatment as recommended, perform 30 hours of public service work, and pay total fines and costs of $ 3,513.

Two additional counts of possession of a controlled substance were dismissed pursuant to plea agreement.

Jessica Erdman, 41, Davis Junction, pleaded guilty June 26 to possession of a controlled substance.

Judge Robert Hanson sentenced her to 24 months drug probation without judgment of conviction. He also ordered her to submit to DNA testing and random drug testing, cooperate with and satisfactorily complete psychological or substance abuse assessments or treatment as recommended, perform 30 hours of public service work, and pay total fines and costs of $2,751. 

A second count of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed pursuant to plea agreement.

Erdman also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and was sentenced to 12 months court supervision without a conviction.

Hanson also ordered her to attend Victim Impact Panel, submit to random alcohol testing, cooperate with and satisfactorily complete psychological or substance abuse assessments or treatment as recommended, and pay total fines and costs of $2,309.
