Last weekend's spring temps and sunny skies were welcomed by area residents and wildife as well.
Some of the bison of the Nachusa Grassland's conservation herd took advantage of the weather on Saturday as they grazed around the wetlands below the visitor center.
Some took dust baths at the edge of the pond. Wallowing behavior relates to relieving skin irritations including shedding a winter coat or seeking relief from biting insects.
A couple walked right across the pond. The Nachusa Grasslands, owned by The Nature Conservancy, is located off of Lowden Road, southeast of Oregon.
