Jan. 22

Deputies along with Oregon EMS and Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at 12:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Ill. 64.

A van driven by Amanda Somers, 31, of Rock Island, was eastbound when Somers lost control of the vehicle on the slightly slush-covered road. Her vehicle then went into the westbound lane and struck a westbound van head on, which was driven by John Heng, 84, of Oregon.

Heng and his passenger, Cordelia Heng, 82, of Oregon, were transported to KSB Hospital, Dixon, by Oregon EMS for minor injuries.

Somers was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident

Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at 4:59 p.m. in the 6,000 block of North Ill. 2.

A northbound vehicle driven by Amy Orsted, 29, of Mt. Morris, went out of control on the snow-covered roadway, crossed into the oncoming lane, and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Matthew Hey, 40, of Dixon.

Orsted was issued citations for driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

John Roberts, 42, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for driving while license suspended. He was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 (10%) bond pending a court appearance.

Tadd Schaible, 30, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for contempt of court. He was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $1,500 bond pending a court appearance.

Kaleb Harrolle, 19, of Freeport, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. He was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $1,117 bond pending a court appearance.

Candace Collins, 26, of Belvidere, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. She was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $1,404 bond pending a court appearance.

Joseph Lewis, 40, of Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for domestic battery. He was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $1,000 bond pending a court appearance.

Jan. 25

Michelle Donoho, 23, of Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. She was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $343 bond pending a court appearance.

Lori Simpson, 19, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. She was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of a $732 bond pending a court appearance.

Deputies along with Forreston Fire and EMS responded at 3:32 p.m. to the intersection of Ill.26 and Montague Road for a two vehicle accident with injuries.

A car driven by Sarah Kraai, 26, of Freeport, was southbound on Ill. 26 approaching the intersection with Montague Road when a westbound sports utility vehicle driven by Randy Zielinski, 66, of Chicago, was traveling westbound was unable to stop at the stop sign on Montague Road and slid into the intersection on the snow-covered road.

Kraai’s car then struck Zielinski’s vehicle on the passenger side causing heavy damage to both vehicles before they ended up a short distance of off the southwest side of the roadway.

Zielinski, Kraai, and a 3-year-old child in Kraai’s vehicle were all transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

Zielinski was later issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection, and Kraai was issued a citation for no valid license, expired less than a year.

Freeport Rural EMS and the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.

Jan. 26

Deputies investigated a one-vehicle roll-over accident at 4:24 a.m. on I-39 at Mile Marker 98.

Joshua R. Lampe, 25, of Byron, was driving southbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions.

The vehicle slid into the median where it struck a guardrail and overturned prior to coming to rest.

Lampe suffered several non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle ambulance.

No citations were issued. Rochelle police assisted at the scene.

Jan. 27

John L. Gray, 79, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was arrested for driving on a revoked license at 3:42 a.m. on 1-39 at Mile Marker 112 after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch.

Gray was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
