Marion “Gene” E. Hazlip, 79, of Oregon (formerly of Polo), died on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at his home.
Gene was born on July 28, 1939, in Jefferson Township, Illinois, the son of Walter and Cleona (Boatwright) Hazlip.
He married Donna Feary on Oct. 28, 1967 in Haldane.
Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany as a radar operator.
He then went on to work for Keefer Farms in Polo for more than 30 years and Nordman Feedlot for 13 years.
Survivors include wife, Donna; sisters, Wilma Logan, of Oregon, and Leona (Ted) Buisker, of Davis; brothers, Leland (Lucy) Hazlip, of Oregon, Glenn (Jocelyn) Hazlip, of Stillman Valley, Walter Hazlip, of California; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo.
