CROP Walk sponsors thanked

Dear Editor,

On behalf of all who participated in the 2018 CROP Walk on Sunday, Oct. 14, we would like to thank this year’s sponsors.

This year’s walk was another success in providing food and water to needy countries around the world, as well at 25 percent to local food pantries.

Without these sponsors we could not provide for so many people.

The sponsors were White Pines Ranch, TNT Motor Sales, Kaczmarzyk Agency, Inc., Peterson Appraisal Service, Reising Insurance Agency, Becker Storage, Welding & Equipment, Sterling Federal Bank - Christy Eastman, Marv Miller-Ted Gesin General Contractors, Mt. Morris Senior Citizens Council, Inc., Merlin’s Greenhouse and Flowers, Fiesta Palace, McDonald’s, Oregon Super Valu, Sullivan’s, Felker Foods, Snyders, Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris Super Wash LLC, Aspiring Health LTD, Nordman Excavating, Inc, Pines Meadow Veterinary Clinic, Guist Agency, Inc, Alpine Chiropractic & Natural Medicine PC, Pinecrest Community, The Polo Room, Mt. Morris Volunteer Fire Department, Rock River Center, Dambman Lawn Mower Hospital LLC, Bocker Grain, Inc, Dad’s Pinecricker Café, Exelon Generating Co. LLC.

And thank you to these organizations that helped keep our walk safe and organized: Oregon Police Department, Oregon City Hall, Snyder’s Pharmacy in Byron, Felker’s in Byron, Oregon United Methodist Youth Group.

St. Bride’s welcomes community

Dear Editor,

Saint Bride’s Episcopal Church has a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for human beings.

We believe that God loves you – no exceptions, and for this reason our church yearns for a ministry that embodies the multiethnic, multilingual and multi-cultural context we live in today.

Our vision is to make St. Bride’s Episcopal Church known to more people in this community and surrounding areas, including Latino/Hispanic communities, that they may experience our church and embrace it as their spiritual home, for fundamental to the Episcopal Church is its welcoming and hospitable environment.

There is room for persons of different theological, biblical and doctrinal positions just as there is room for you no matter where you come from or what you look like.

St. Bride’s currently has a 10 a.m. English service on Sunday.

I am a bilingual priest from the Dominican Republic and would like to add a Spanish service.

We offer baptisms, presentations, first communion, confirmation, quinceañeras, pre-marital counseling, weddings, and pastoral care.

St. Bride’s is located at 1000 Route 64 West in Oregon.

For more information please call me at 815-732-7211.
