In April, as part of True Leaders in Service and National Volunteer Appreciation Month, 4‑H’ers across the nation pledged their hands to larger service – leading positive change that empowers their peers and their communities.

True Leaders in Service officially kicked-off the first day of April, and culminate with the National 4‑H Day of Service on Saturday, April 28.

Ogle County 4-H Clubs participated in a variety of service projects, with a CANstruction contest held by the county office.

Clubs created amazingly creative displays in local businesses around Ogle County using all can food. Displays were judged and the winning club will won a pizza party! All food was then donated to the local food pantries around Ogle County.

Participating clubs included Ogle County Clovers 4-H Club, Rochelle; Leaf River Busy Beavers 4-H Club; Leaf River Soaring Eagles 4-H Club; Summerhill Huskies 4-H Club, Forreston; Grand Detour Greens 4-H Club; and Ogle Jolly 4-H Club, Stillman Valley.
