Weslee Liam Rice, 17, of Oregon, died on Saturday April 14, 2018 at Rockford Mercy Health as a result of injuries suffered in an accident.
He was born on Aug. 29, 2000 in Austin, Minnesota, the son of William H. Jr. and Sandra Lee (Haller) Rice.
He was a junior at Oregon High School where he had been active in football, track and weight lifting.
Weslee loved skating and snow boarding, hiking and spending time with his friends playing video games.
He was a member of Riverstone Christian Church in Oregon.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Sandy Rice, of Oregon; brothers, Will Lee Rice and Wylee Leland Rice, of Oregon; paternal grandfather, William H. Rice Sr., of Tomah, Wisconsin; and many aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Phillip H. and Donna Haller; paternal grandmother, Linda G. Rice; and aunt, Beverly Kay Rieger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. at the Blackhawk Center, Oregon, with Pastor Craig Arnold and Pastor Lance Mennen co-officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon.
A memorial fund has been established for the Oregon High School football program.
