The Ogle County Horse Barn Committee is kicking off its 2018 fundraising campaign to build a horse barn at the Ogle County Fairgrounds near Oregon.
The following events are planned for the next year.
A Family Fun Day will be held Sunday, Feb. 11 from 12 to 4 p.m. in the auditorium at the Ogle County Extension Office in the Farm Bureau Building, 421 W. Pines Rd., Oregon.
Activities will include line dancing, board games, many other forms of family fun.
A food stand will be available.
A Tack Sale and Swap is planned on Sunday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. also at the Extension auditorium.
Booths, 10x10 feet, are available to sell or swap horse tack for $20 each.
The first of two Build-A-Barn horse shows will take place on June 23 and 24 at Diamond G Ranch and Western Store, Rochelle.
This is the former Bits N Reins show. The showbill is essentially the same.
The English disciplines will be on Saturday and Western disciplines on Sunday.
A Ranch Riding class has been added to all of the shows this year.
Trail classes will be held on both days as in the past.
A Build-A-Barn show will be held on Aug. 5 during the Ogle County Fair
The benefit horse show held in last August was successful. Proceeds from that show enabled the committee to present a $1,000 check to the fair association during its annual meeting.
