The Oregon Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that monthly Lunch ‘n Learn programs will continue to be held the third Tuesday of the month at noon at the Nash Center River Room.
“We are very pleased and grateful for the continuing support of the Oregon Park District in lending use of space and hospitality features for this Chamber outreach program,” said Debbie Dickson, Chamber Executive Director. “It is our hope that all Oregon, as well as Ogle County area folks, whether in business or private citizens, whether chamber members or not, know that all are welcome to join us for this networking, educational and informational opportunity”.
The Jan. 16 program will feature Farrahn Hawkins, Peace Corp alumnus, who has joined the staff of the City of Oregon as a full time intern and will spend the next 11 months assisting with economic development and tourism growth.
This opportunity has been made available through an Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs (IIRA) Intern program.
Her responsibilities will include research, marketing, business outreach, website management, and presentation of seminars designed to improve local business practices according to their interests.
She will also be assisting Oregon Chamber of Commerce projects supporting tourism and business development efforts.
This Intern program is an extension of the city's involvement with IIRA - which also assisted with the development of the Oregon Together community group.
"Please make plans to attend our January Lunch ‘n Learn to meet Farrahn and to discuss ways this program can add value to our community. Let's give her a big Oregon welcome!," said Dickson.
The cost remains $10 and is payable at the door.
Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Oregon Chamber at 815-732.2100, or send an email email@example.com.
