The Forreston Cardinals didn’t waste anytime last Friday putting their winning stamp on the final game of the 2017 regular season, downing Amboy-Lamoille 54-6.
Gavin Fuchs put the Cards on the scoreboard first when he scored on a three-yard run at the 9-minute mark in the first quarter. Cailean Davids knocked the extra point throughout the uprights to make it 7-0.
Also in the first quarter, Cardinals added touchdowns by Ethan Mulder (3-yard run), Evan Kelsey (3-yard run), AJ Christensen (60-yard run), followed by Davids’ extra points, to make it 28-0.
Kelsey scored another touchdown early in the second quarter when he broke loose from the line of scrimmage and ran 74 yards to the end zone. Joseph Bowers scored on a 18-yard run followed by Hunter Rogers on a 5-yard run to make it 48-0 at the half.
Forreston (8-1) hosts Catlin Salt Fork (5-4) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.
