Twin sisters Sarah and Julia Meyers are mowing the grass at White Oak Cemetery, rural Forreston, and are making our cemetery beautiful.

The sisters, who are 17 years old and will be seniors at Forreston High School, are contributing their energy and time to beautify the resting place of our forefathers.

As you can see from the smiles on their faces, they enjoy being employed by the cemetery.

As I watched them work, they never hit a stone and every move counted.

Their concentration was intense and no goofing around — good job!

The White Oak Improvement Committee started to reset headstones last week and will accept contributions at the Forreston State Bank. See Sue Engelkens for registration.

Donations can also be sent to Forreston State Bank, ATTN Sue Engelkens, 200 Main St., PO Box 278, Forreston IL 61030.
