If you love the outdoors and are the competitive type, we have some fun in store for you – and maybe even for 20 of your closest friends.

Oregon’s June 17 Rockin’ River Fest will bring out the best of the beast in you.

The event is sponsored by Oregon Together and the Oregon Chamber of Commerce.

If you’re a runner, biker, canoer or kayaker then you shouldn’t miss the Rock River Adventure Tri.

Participants will run along the riverfront on the Rock River, climb the stairs at Black Hawk Statue, run through the park then circle back to Park east where you pick you your bike and ride a 10 mile an adventurous trail.

The third leg of the competition will be a five-mile canoe or kayak race.

Registration is open an d may be completed on the website www.rockin’riverfest.net.

The race will be professionally timed.

Maybe you’re not the triathlon type and that’s ok.

The festival offers something else that will test your strength and stamina as you participate in the Tug of War Across the Rock River.

Get together of your closest friends and create a “tug” team.

Teams must be co-ed teams, may have up to 20 pullers on a team and the total team weight can’t exceed 3,600 pounds.

Twelve teams are accepted and the due date of May 20 is fast approaching.

Entry forms are available on the website www.rockinriverfest.net.

If you just don’t get into all the challenging physical competition, then our Toss’em Tourney might just be the event for you.

Winners will receive cash prizes based on the number entries, so the more entries the higher the pay-out.

Entry forms for this event are also available on www.rockinriverfest.net.

Save the date and plan to join us for these and many other fun events including the Game Spot for kids, music, historical walking tours, art gallery tours, food and the festival Chill Zone brought to you by our Presenting Sponsors: Martin and Company and Presenting Media Sponsor: The Coyote/WRHL Radio.

The festival will be held on the North Second Street riverfront area between Ill. 64 and Franklin at Third Street.

Complete details are available on the website www.rockinriverfest.net.
