Forrest M. Harris

Forrest M. Harris, 79, Mt. Morris (formerly of Polo), died on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon. 

She was born, July 5, 1934, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the daughter of Forest and Georgia (Ewurs) Compton.  

Forrest was married to her first husband Richard Rinard for 35 years then to her second husband John Harris for 20 years. Both preceded her in death.  

She graduated from Dixon High School class of 1952.  

Forrest worked for the Department of Mental Health in Dixon for many years. 

In her retirement she spent most of her time volunteering for many organizations such as Ogle County Hospice, Second Hand Rose, St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo Senior Center and Polo United Methodist Church.  

Survivors include her son, Donald Rinard, Polo; brother, David Compton, Tacoma, Wash.;  and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother. William “Billy” Compton.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 8 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 N. Division Ave., Polo with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.

Arrangements were completed by Polo Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Marks Lutheran Church and Serenity Hospice and Home.
