Ogle County Sheriff Michael Harn reports the following activity.
Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of German Church Road and Brick Road.
During the investigation, deputies learned that Joseph Ring, 19, Oregon was eastbound on Brick Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. Ring stuck a northbound vehicle driven by Jeffrey Ruppenthal, 24, Rochelle. Ring was issued a citation for failure to yield at intersection.
The Oregon Fire Department and Oregon Ambulance assisted with the accident.
Dominic Mireles, 31, Rochelle, was transported to the Ogle County Jail from the Dekalb Ogle County Jail for failure to appear. Mireles’ bond was set at $550 pending an April 2 court appearance.
Lucas Holtzclaw, 24, Dixon, was arrested for failure to appear. His bond was set at $2,719 pending an April 2 court appearance.
At about 6:10 p.m., deputies responded to a citizen complaint at the Rolling Meadows Trailer Park in Davis Junction.
Upon completing an investigation into the incident, Largus “Ben” Estell, 45, Davis Junction, was arrested for leaving custody of a child with a child sex offender.
Also taken into custody was David E Collins, 57, Davis Junction, for violating the provisions of the child sex offender registration act, as well as trespassing.
A male juvenile was taken into protective custody. Estell was held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond. Collins was held pending an appearance before a judge.
At approximately 12:05 a.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Ill. 64 and Ill. 251.
Pursuant to an investigation, Jason M Carson, 36, Madison, Wis., was arrested for obstruction of justice/false name, driving while license revoked and unlawful display of license plate not authorized for vehicle.
Carson was further cited for disobeying a stop sign, operating an uninsured vehicle and no valid registration.
Dandre A James, 35, Rock Falls, was arrested for failure to appear. James posted the $125 full cash bond. No further court date is needed.
Essex Lawrence, 37, Freeport, was arrested for failure to appear. Lawrence’s bond was set at $441 pending an April 11 court date.
Justin Abell, 26, Rochelle, was arrested for failure to appear. He was released on a recognizance bond and given a return court date of April 28.
John Riederer, 43, Davis Junction, was arrested for failure to appear. Riederer paid a $50 bond following a court appearance and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 19.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile from Oregon for possession of a firearm/ammunition without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID) card. The arrest took place at the Mt. Morris Police Department. The male juvenile was transported to the Focus House.
Joshua Oldenburg, 30, Leaf River, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court. Oldenburg’s bond was set at $1567.77 pending an April 4 court appearance.
At 4:59 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at Flagg Road and Daysville Road. Subsequent to the stop, the driver Jeffrey Barker, 36, Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license suspended and no insurance. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Harley Yanez, 20, Rockford, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Yanez’s bond was set at $897.00 pending an April 7 court appearance.
Silvia Lozano, 50, Rockford, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Lozano posted $341 bond and has no further court appearances.
At 5:18 a.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 20000 block of E. Ill. 38. It was determined that a vehicle driven by Marion Spriggs, 60, Rochelle, was having mechanical problems and stalled on Ill. 38.
A vehicle driven by Jessica Dunkin, 29, Rochelle, was traveling eastbound and struck the Spriggs vehicle. Dunkin received minor injuries and was transported to Rochelle Hospital by Rochelle Ambulance. Spriggs was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
On 04.06.14 at 11:51 p.m.,deputies stopped a van in the 2000 block of S. Ill. 2, for failing to reduce its speed or move over while passing a stopped emergency vehicle with emergency lights activated.
Subsequent to the stop, Eugene J. Dzwierzynski, 53, Oregon, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Leslie Greer, 51, Sterling, was arrested for contempt. Greer’s bond was set at $323. He was held in the Ogle County Jail pending a court date.
