Two school children and two drivers were transported to area hospitals Friday afternoon after a Forrestville Valley school bus collided head-on with a pick-up truck northeast of Leaf River.

The names of the injured and details of the crash were not available late Friday afternoon.

Ogle County Sheriff's Police said six children were on the bus when the crash occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 11,000 block of North Pecatonica Road approximately six miles from Leaf River.

The two injured children were on the bus, which was delivering them home from school.

The bus driver and the driver of the pick-up truck were also taken to the hospital.

The Leaf River, Mt. Morris, Byron, Pecatonica, and Winnebago Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
