Ogle County Sheriff Michael Harn reports the following activity.

March 4

Melissa J. Meyers, 43, Rochelle, was arrested at 2:37 p.m. for no valid driver’s license after a traffic stop in the 6,000 block of N. Ill. 251. Meyers was transported to the Ogle County jail where she posted bond.

Randy Cover, 56, Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for harassment by telephone. Cover was being held at the Ogle County jail in lieu of bond.

Nickolas Howard, 22, Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for criminal trespass to vehicles. Howard was being held at the Ogle County jail in lieu of bond.

Catherine M. Ross, 27, Davenport, Iowa, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. She posted $1,155.77 bond and was released.

Brandi Richardson, 25, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for electronic communication device-talking on a cell phone. She posted 10% of a $2,000 bond and was released.

March 5

Daniel A. Monson, 25, Davis Junction, was arrested at 1:16 a.m. after he was located at Conserv Fuel Services taking diesel fuel. Monson was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, driving while license suspended, no insurance, improper use of registration, and no valid registration. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

At 2:37 a.m., deputies responded to the 10000 block of N. Ill. 2 in regards to a crash involving minor injuries. Upon arrival, officers found a 2001 Nissan that had left the road and struck two trees.

The driver, David Cline, 23, Byron, refused medical aid at the scene. He was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and given an April 2 court date in Oregon. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Byron Police and Byron Fire Departments.

At approximately 7:35 a.m., deputies along with Stillman and Byron fire departments responded to a three-vehicle accident in the 9500 block of East Ill. 72, located just east of Stillman Valley.

A vehicle driven Mary Davis, 47, Davis Junction, was traveling westbound and lost control on the snow covered roadway and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Mary Lou Belmonte, 37, Davis Junction, causing a head-on collision.

A third vehicle that driven by Shelly Carson, 42, Davis Junction, was traveling westbound at the time of impact and collided with the other westbound vehicle.

Davis had to be extricated from her car and was subsequently transported to Swedish American Hospital by Stillman Ambulance and her passenger, Ashley Davis, 13, was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital by Byron Ambulance. The accident is under investigation.

Daniel Elam, 59, Rockford, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for driving while license revoked and failure to appear. Elam is scheduled to appear in court on March 14.

Aaron J. Heaton, 33, Rock Falls, was arrested on an Ogle County  warrant for driving while license suspended. Heaton posted the 10% of a $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.

Richard F. Lake, 45, Rockford, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear (theft less than $500). Bond was set at $647 pending a March 6 court appearance.

March 6

Kimberly Young, 48, Rockford, was arrested at the Winnebago County Jail and transported to the Ogle County Jail on an outstanding warrants for driving while license suspended and failure to appear. Young was unable to post bonds of $2,000 (10%) and $812. She  appeared in court on March 6 and was ordered to pay $50 towards her fines and given a return court date of April 28.

Sarah Macgregor, 33, Rockford, was arrested when she turned herself in to the Ogle County Jail on a warrant for motion to increase bond. She posted 10% of a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 21.

Marisol Santiago, 21, Byron, posted $247 bond on a warrant for failure to appear. Santiago was not in custody, a desk report was completed, and she will not need to appear in court.

Joseph Colombi, 21, Byron, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams, after deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of N. Kishwaukee Road. Colombi was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

March 7

On 3-7-14 Ogle County Deputies arrested the following subjects on outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Christopher Wetzel, 34, Oregon, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Wetzel’s bond was set at $250 pending a March 14 court appearance.

Jeremy Cargle, 20, (no town provided) was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for petition to revoke. Cargle’s bond was set at $10,000 (10%) pending a March 10 court date.

Zachary Popp, 19, Oregon, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for the unlawful failure to register as a sex offender. Popp’s bond was set at $15,000 (10%) pending a March 10 court date.

Derek Coursey, 21, Dixon, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Coursey posted $628 full cash for bond and has no further court appearance required.

Yesenia Avendano, 36, Davis Junction, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Avendano posted $3,000 (10%) bond for the uninsured motor vehicle warrant and $300 full cash for the failure to appear warrant. Avendano will appear in court at a later date.

March 8

At about 7:54 a.m., deputies, along with the Rochelle Fire Department and Creston First Responders, were dispatched to an accident with injuries at the intersection of S. Malta Road and Woodlawn Road.

Upon completing an investigation into the incident, it was determined that a black 2002 Honda Accord, driven by Jacob S. Bidstrup, 22, Dekalb, was westbound on S. Malta Road when he failed to stop at the intersection.

The vehicle struck a snowbank on the west side of Woodlawn Road went airborne and came to rest in a field.

Bidstrup was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Bidstrup was treated at Rochelle Community Hospital and later transferred to St. Anthony Hospital. He was issued a notice to appear in court on April 4.

March 9

At 6:15 a.m., deputies responded to the 10500 block of N. Leaf River Road for a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in the roadway.

After further investigation, the driver, Christopher D. Bamborough, 25, Polo, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Bamborough was transported to the Ogle County jail where he posted bond and will appear in court at a later date.

March 10

At 8:39 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 97. After an investigation, Nicholas Smith, 24, Elgin, was arrested for driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of cannabis. Smith was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was being held in lieu of bond.

Shane. E Hellenga, 38, Leaf River, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Bond was set at $100,000 pending a court appearance.

Michael P. Davis, 24, Amboy, was arrested on Ogle County warrants for a petition to revoke, bond $5,000; failure to appear (original charge domestic battery) bond $3,406; and escape, bond $5,000. Davis was scheduled to appear in court March 11.

Muneez Khan, 30, Hoffman Estates, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge driving while under the influence of alcohol. Khan posted $2,192 as a full cash bond and does not need to appear in court.

Kristine L. Sondgeroth, 45, Rochelle, was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Sondgeroth posted the $250 full cash bond and no further court date is needed.
