Dorothy “Dot” Sherwood Moore, 85, Rockford, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon.
She was born Nov. 26, 1928 in Rochelle, to Harold and Idella Sherwood.
She married Robert Moore in Macon, Miss., in 1954. He died in 1981.
She married Earl Kaiser in 1989. He died in 1992.
She worked many years for Del Monte and Eaton Corp, both in Rochelle.
She also worked for Kurt Keene at Community Mini Storage.
She moved to Rockford and worked at Cherryvale Mall for nine years.
She enjoyed her retirement by traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Cherie ( Larry Pontnack ) Slack, Oregon; son, Michael (Bobbie) Moore, Stillman Valley; grandchildren, David Slack, Trevor Moore, and Nate Gilmore; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Sam) Lopez, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; brothers, William, Everett, Richard, Harold Jr.; and grandson, Scott Slack.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, with Rev. Randy Snyder officiating.
Interment followed at Flagg Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, or Pinecrest Community, Mt. Morris.
