Mother Nature added a couple of more twists to her winter weather menu on Thursday when Ogle County residents were greeted with rain and fog.

Rain showers on Thursday made travel on snow covered rural roads extra tricky for motorists. Then, later in the day, more rain caused water to pond on some roads. Fog also made visibilty difficult in some areas.

Thursday afternoon a large tree was reported down across one lane on Ridge Road, about one mile north of Grand Detour.

Motorists are urged to take extra caution when driving as flooding could incease before temperatures  fluctate and drop in the next 24-48 hours which could create ice patches on roads.
