Elinor “Kay” Merdian, 72, Polo, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon.
She worked at Kable News, Mt. Morris, for more than 20 years and most recently for Walmart, Dixon.
Kay was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Walnut, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Tornow) Merdian.
Survivors include her mother, Grace; one son, Mark (Tamela) Merdian, Polo; brother, Neil (Christa) Merdian, Polo; two sisters, Carol (“Buck”) Walter, Naperville, and Sharon (Robin) Colglazier, Dixon; and a grandson, Nate Merdian.
She was preceded in death by her father; three brothers, Robert, Larry, and Rick Merdian.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo, with Rev. Monte Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
