Stronghold Camp and Retreat Center hosting quilt auction during Olde English Fair Oct. 5

This beautiful quilt was pieced by members of the Frayed Knots Bee of the Prairie Star Quilt Guild in St. Charles. Each block was made using only scraps from previous projects. The quilt is a machine quilted lap quilt measuring 53 x 54 inches and took approximately 60 hours of volunteer labor. The quilt is Item Number: G709

More than 60 quilts of all sizes, shapes and colors, hand-crafted by various church groups and individuals from northern Illinois and other locations, have been donated for the Fundraiser Quilt Auction for Stronghold Camp and Retreat Center.

This first-ever event on Saturday, Oct. 5 will be held in conjunction with the Olde English Faire.  All proceeds will benefit Castle and Camp improvement projects. 

There are even some vintage quilts from the 1930s and 1940s. There are baby quilts, wall hangings and holiday themed quilts as well.

Online bidding will be available from Sept. 20-Oct. 1 at www.biddingforgood.com/stronghold.

The Quilt Preview will be Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. – noon with the Live Auction beginning promptly at 1 p.m. in Brubaker Center at Stronghold.

Admission is $2 and also applies to Olde English Faire admission. Parking is free.

Stronghold is located two miles north of Oregon, on Ill. 2.
