Jerry Grant Woodrick, 70, Buena Park, Calif., died peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Aug. 30, 2103 at his home.
He was born to Harold and Bernice Woodrick on June 26, 1943 in Oregon.
His love of the outdoors began on the banks of the Rock River as a child and continued on into his adulthood.
He married Beverly Long in 1966, and the two later moved to California so that Jerry could continue his career as a machinist.
Jerry spent his life constantly in motion, both mentally and physically.
When he wasn’t on the tennis or basketball courts, he could be found teaching himself a new language or tackling a Sunday crossword puzzle.
He made and kept lifelong friends in almost every place he went.
His most important role was that of a husband and father who dedicated himself to providing for his family.
Jerry lived his life with a gracefulness and kindness that put him in a class that was truly all his own.
He will be forever loved and remembered by the many lives he touched.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverly Woodrick; his son, Chad Woodrick; his daughter, Katie Woodrick; his sister, Karen Price and family, and his granddaughter, Zoe.
