Helen J. Plucker 78, Oregon, and formerly of DeKalb, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, DeKalb.
She was born Sept. 5, 1934 in DeKalb and was the daughter of John J. and Mary (Jordan) McCormick.
Helen graduated from Mt. St. Mary Academy, St. Charles.
She was a bank teller at the Fourth Street Bank and retired in 1988 after 26 years.
She was a member of the Bit and Spur Saddle Club.
Helen married Gordon Plucker October 9, 1953 at the First United Methodist Church, DeKalb.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon, Oregon; daughters, Debbie (Rick) Holloway, Dixon, and Kathy Plucker, DeKalb; and one son, Jeff Plucker, DeKalb; grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Moore, Mt. Juliet, Ind., Brandon Moore, Sycamore, Alex Plucker, DeKalb, Carly Plucker, Skokie; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Holloway, Polo, and Erica (Mike) Pospeshil, Hoffman Estates, and Brad (Kayla) Holloway, Dixon; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Devlin Moore; step-great-grandchildren, Lennon, Lyla, Neyo, and Nevan; sister, Rosann Shipman; sisters-in-law, E. Phyllis McCormick, Eleanor Williams, and Shirley Shedd; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Roberta Lagermeier, Catherine Hakala; five brothers, John R., Bernard, Don, Malachi, and Patrick.
Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb.
A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 6 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home.
