Ray E. Wheeler

Ray Edward Wheeler, 57, Baileyville, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at his home. 

Born Feb. 21, 1956 in Dixon he was the son of Kenneth and Goldie (Cross) Wheeler.

He was a graduate of Forreston High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris. 

He enjoyed going to auctions and various sales and working on his 1955 Chevy. 

Surviving are his mother, Goldie Wheeler, Baileyville; two sons, Jakob (Rachel) Wheeler, Oregon, Wis.,  Austin Wheeler, Rock Falls; granddaughter, Lydia Raye Wheeler, Oregon, Wis.; sister, Colleen (Gary) Pell, Phoenix, Ariz.; four brothers, Kenneth (Cathy) Wheeler Jr., Freeport, Gary, Larry, and Billy Wheeler, all of Baileyville; uncle, Gene (Bernadine) Cross,Lanark; two aunts, Shirley (Sid) Bender,Baraboo, Wis., Connie Cross, Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life gathering was scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, Freeport. 

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 29 at 1:30 p.m. at the Baileyville Reformed Church, Baileyville. 

Cremation rites will be accorded, and burial of remains will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. 

A memorial has been established in his name.
