Harold L. Harmon, 65, Amboy, formerly of Oregon, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1948 in Oregon, the son of Harold L. and Zada B. (Ware) Harmon.
He worked for Crest Foods in Ashton for 16 years prior to his retirement in 2013. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother, Mt. Morris; four sisters, Alice A. (Leroy) Dukes, Amboy, Delores White, Ashton, Zada B. (Gary) Bailey, Mt. Morris, and Cathy L. (Bill) Bemus, Jackson, Miss.; two brothers, Jamie “Hawk” Harmon, Rockford, and Charles R. Harmon, Elgin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Jack N. Hitchcock; a brother, George R. Harmon; and a half-brother, Jack Hitchcock Jr. in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy, with Rev. Jamie T. Hawk Harmon officiating.
Graveside services with military honors by the Amboy American Legion Post will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Sublette.
Refreshments will follow at the Home of Leroy and Alice Dukes, 303 Gilson Ave., Amboy.
Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society and Serenity Hospice and Home.
