Chiyoko Dirksen

Chiyoko Dirksen, 79, German Valley, died, Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 in Manor Court of Liberty Village, Freeport.

Chiyoko was born on March 20, 1934 in Japan the daughter of Fusako Yokoyama. Chiyoko worked at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, where she was a CNA.

She married John R. Dirksen in Japan on Aug. 6, 1953. He died on Dec. 1, 1981. Chiyoko loved animals and all of her family.

Surviving are son, Jan (Mary) Dirksen, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; daughter, Reiko (Ron) Kilker, Buffalo Grove; brother, Tado Hirano, Japan; four grandchildren, Joshua (Christina) Kilker, Sara Kilker, Holly Dirksen, and Laura (Justin) Perkins; seven great-grandchildren, Miyah, Ryann, Jacob, Brayden, Jayda, Aaliyah and Mikayla.

Also surviving is a special friend Jim Becker.

Chiyoko was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.  also at Burke Tubbs in Forreston.

Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery.
