Jack N. Hitchcock

Jack N. Hitchcock, 83, lifelong Oregon area resident, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Pinecrest Terrace, Mt. Morris.

She was born Sept. 6, 1929 in Polo, the son of William and Juanita (Personette) Hitchcock.

He married to Zada Ware Nov. 3, 1956 in Oregon.

Jack was employed by Rockford Drop Forge 29 years prior to retiring in 1979 and then as a guard for Quebcor, Mt. Morris.

He was a member of East Oregon Church of God, Mt. Morris Moose Lodge and AIM Union.

Jack was an avid bowler and also enjoyed horse shoes, card playing, walking, and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Zada; daughters, Zada (Gary) Bailey, Mt. Morris, and Cathy (Bill) Bemus, Mississippi; step-daughters, Alice (LeRoy) Dukes, Amboy, Dolores White, Pecatonica, and Debbie Weicht, Rockford; step-sons, Harold Harmon,Oregon, Thomas Harmon,New Mexico and Charles Harmon, Chicago; grandchildren, Jesse, Myria, Stephanie, Matthew, John, and Jennie; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Landon, Carly, Jude, Jack, Caiden, and Elijah; multiple step-grand and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Charles (Bernice) Hitchcock, Jerry (JoAn) Hitchcock, and Daniel (Judy) Hitchcock, all of Oregon.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant son, Jack; step-son, George Harmon; brother, Bob; and sisters, Dolores and Karen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, with Pastor John Guthrie of East Oregon Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, rural Oregon.

Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Pinecrest Terrace, Serenity Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
