Oregon's Alex Cain named to all-state baseball team for Class 2A schools

Oregon High School graduate Alex Cain was named to the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association All State Team for Class 2A schools.

Cain was a pitcher and infielder for the Hawks this year as they made a late season run, winning regional and sectional titles before losing to Eureka at the Rock Island Supersectional.

Cain hit .447 and slugged .670 with three home runs, 27 runs scored and 18 RBIs. He also posted a 1.56 earned-run average and a 6-3 record while striking out 75.

Cain has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.
