The Village of Progress Foundation and Larry Young & Friends Charities will co-host the 21st  annual John Herrmann Memorial Golf Playday on Monday, July 8.

Since Larry Young & Friends Charities joined with the Village of Progress Foundation in 2000 to co-host the event, the playday has been held after the Major League Baseball’s all-star break so that Oregon native Larry Young can take time off to join organizers on the golf course.

After a 22-year umpiring career in the big leagues Young now travels the country as a supervisor of major and minor league umpires.

Come out and spend a day with Larry & Friends while helping to insure long term services to the adults of Ogle County with developmental disabilities.

Register as a single to be placed in a foursome or get your own foursome together and join golfers from throughout Ogle County in this fun event.

The four-man scramble will begin with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start at the Prairie View Golf Course.

The cost of $100 per golfer includes green fees, golf cart, prizes, and a steak dinner after golfing.

Since its inception, the event has raised $128,000 for the Village of Progress Foundation.

For registration or sponsorship information call Craig Carpenter at the Village of Progress at 815-732-2126.
