William E. Schisler, 84, Princeton formerly of Manlius, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison.
He was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Astoria Township in Fulton County, the son of Jacob E. and Julia A. (Hess) Schisler.
He married Virginia E. Easley in Springfield on Aug. 21, 1949. She died Jan. 12, 2013.
William graduated from Astoria High School in 1946.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict.
He was a lifetime farmer, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Grace United Brethen Church, Manlius and the Bureau County Farm Bureau.
William is survived by two son, Craig Schisler, Polo, and Kevin Schisler, Morrison; two grandchildren, Jason Schisler, Madison, Wis., and Ryan Schisler, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters, Doris West and Margaret Scrogum-Wickert.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Rev. Jeff McIlrath officiating.
Burial will be Manlius Cemetery, Manlius.
Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military rites will be performed by Princeton American Legion 125
Memorials may be made to the Manlius Cemetery Association, American Heart Association, or the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Richard Woodley, Jason Schisler, Ryan Schisler, Fred Lebahn, Eddy Notschaele, and Craig Miller.
