James M. Coffey, 76, Dixon, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Dixon Healthcare and Rehab Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1936 in Dixon the son of Francis E. and Helen L. (Whitebread) Coffey.
Jim had owned and operated the Friendly Tap in Polo for 27 years prior to his retirement.
He married Sandra Lee Masuhr in Dixon on Sept. 1, 1959. She preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1964.
He then married Martha Valladarez in Dixon May 17, 1968.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; son, James (Judy) Coffey, Polo; three daughters, Karen Coffey, Carol (Steve) Commons, and Christinamercy (Jared Dambman) Coffey, all of Dixon; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Neil Coffey, Goleta, Calif., Paul Coffey, Cottonwood, Ariz., and Terry (Esta) Coffey, Dixon; two sisters, Marilyn Coffey, Dixon, and Kathy Coffey, Louisiana.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Coffey; five brothers, Edward, Joseph, Richard, Timothy and Danny Coffey; and a sister, Patty Friel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31 beginning with a 10 a.m. prayer service in the Jones Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30 from 2 to 7 p.m. with the rosary at 7 p.m.
