Karen S. Sommer

Karen Sue Sommer, 60, Mt. Morris, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to many, died Monday, May 13, 2013 in Rush Hospital, Chicago.

Karen was born Nov. 9, 1952 in Oregon, at the Warmolts Clinic, the daughter of Lawrence and Lorretta (Jones) Wolfe.

She attended Oregon High School.

Karen married Ronald E. Sommer on April 4, 2007 in Oregon.

She was a buffer for Quality Metal, Byron, for 27 years.

She was a lifetime Mt. Morris area resident.

Karen lived life to the fullest; she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loving her dog, Millie, and her cats.

Karen was an avid card player and she loved to dance, ride the motorcycle, fish, and use the metal detector.  She also collected Indian relics.

Karen is survived by her mother, Sue Wolfe, Oregon; husband, Ronald Sommer, Mt. Morris; daughter, Margarita Arellano, Naperville; son, Rodolfo Arellano, Mt. Morris; step-daughters, Jennifer Sommer, Loves Park,and Jyleen Sommer, Leaf River; grandchildren, Morgan and Immanuel Arellano, Mt. Morris; step-grandchildren, Sydne Robinson, Mt. Morris, and Tylor Sommer, Loves Park; two sisters, Joyce (Jeff) Jones, Oregon, and Janet (John) Blumeyer, Oregon two brothers, Ken (Joanne) Wolfe, Oregon, and Keith (Bridget) Wolfe, Oregon; nephews, Ken Wolfe Jr., Russell Schier and Michael Jones, all of Oregon; nieces: Cristy Williams, Sasha, Kelsey, and Megan Wolfe, Amanda Jones, Jeneen Schier, all of Oregon; many great- nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Wolfe; and step-son, Brian Sommer.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mt. Morris.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. at West Branch Church of the Brethren with Rev. Richard Bright officiating.

Memorials will be determined.
