Stanley E. Lawrence

Stanley E. Lawrence, 72,  Leaf River, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at KSB Hospital, Dixon.

Stan was born on Oct. 14, 1940 in Lewistown, the son of Lester and Oris (Clary) Lawrence.

He graduated from Sterling Township High School in the Class of 1958.  Stan was in U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.

He married Janet Moore on Nov. 21, 1965 at the Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church.

Stan worked at Kent Feeds as a quality control supervisor for 30 years, and he worked for the Mt. Morris Township.

Stan lived in Como, moving to Mt. Morris-Leaf River area after his discharge from the U.S. Army.

He was an FFA alumni.

Stan is survived by his wife, Janet Lawrence, Leaf River; son, Joel (Jill) Lawrence, Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Heidi (Chad) Lesson, Leaf River,  Sarah (Brooks) Cann, Oswego, Lindsey Ruzicka, Byron, Lauren (Kevin) Schuch, Moline; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Smith, Byron, Garrett Lesson, Leaf River, Cambria Cann, Oswego, Luke Schuch, Moline, Alexis Moore, Polo; three brothers; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held April 20 at the Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Bruce McKanna officiating.

Burial was in Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Arrangements were completed by Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris.

Memorials may be made to the Pinecrest Good Samaritan Fund.
