Roger F. Cave

Roger F. Cave, 91, Cherry Lane Estates, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home.

He was born on March 26, 1922 in Lightsville, the son of Dewey and Florence (Long) Cave.

He attended Manchester College and also Valparaiso Tech. He worked for Gates/Harris Corp for many years until his retirement. 

He first married Lucille Bules. She preceded him in death. He later married Esther Kattelman. She preceded him in death. 

He then later married Ruth M. Weiman Skaggs. She also preceded him in death. 

Cave was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and was also a volunteer for Blessing Hospital.

He is survived by a step-son, Ronald Kattelman, Texas; David Cave and his wife Beverly, Moose Lake, Minn.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Cave was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Walker.

Funeral services were held on April 15 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy White officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home.

The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
