William B. Webster

William B. Webster, 96, Mt. Morris, died Monday April 8, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford. 

Bill was born Sept. 10, 1916 in Wausau, Wis., the son of Charles and Minnie (Nystrom) Webster. 

He graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1934 and Beloit College, Beloit, Wis., in the Class of 1938, where he was in the Sigma Pi Fraternity. 

Bill married Irene P. Priller on Aug. 10, 1940 in Mt. Morris. 

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific in the Philippine Islands as a T-3. 

Bill worked in the composing room for Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, retiring in 1978. 

He was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 143, the Typographical Union where he served as the last President of the Union for the State of Illinois,  a Free Mason, and he played in Rockford Scottish Educational Society pipe band.

Bill is survived by daughters, Margaret Webster, Ontario, Wis.,  and Elizabeth Webster, Highbridge, Wis.; son, Thomas W. Webster, Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward C. Webster, Carlsbad, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parent; wife, Irene Webster; and daughter, Mary Christine Webster.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 13  at 11 a.m. at Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, with Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till service time at the church.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Arrangements were completed by Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris.

Memorials made be made to the Mt. Morris Public Library or Disciples United Methodist Church.
