Earl A. Miller

Earl A. Miller, 74, Mt. Morris, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris.  

Earl was born on Dec. 18, 1938 in Fargo, N.D., the son of Chester and Esther (Fetting) Miller.  

He married Patricia Hambley on Oct. 5, 1957 in Rock Falls.

Earl was a pipefitter and plumber with Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, retiring in 2002. He was also part owner of Plum Electric for 12 years.  

He was a member of the Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren, serving on the church board.  

Earl was a member of Sunset Golf Club, where he served on the board, and a member of the Mt. Morris Senior Center, where he also served on the board. 

He loved fishing, golfing, spending winters in Texas, gardening, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.  

Earl did so much for so many people.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Miller, Mt. Morris; sons, Jim (Janell) Miller, Forreston,  Roger (Colleen) Miller, Mt. Morris; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron Janes) Moser, Mt. Morris, Deanna Leach, Oregon, Nicki (Rick) Morningstar, Oregon, Josh (Becky) Miller, Decatur, Kari (Ryan Felkamp) Miller, Streamwood, Amie (Brian Schelling) Miller, Leaf River,  Christie (Darrick Port) Miller, Milledgeville; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford (friend Lois) Miller, Rock Falls, Curtis (Muriel) Miller, Mt. Morris, Dennis (Leona) Miller, Fulton; a sister, Judy (Glen) Virgin, Henderson, Nev.; several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane (Bud), Lester, Gordon, Wallace, Gerald, Ronald; sisters, Viola, Doris, Charlotte, Betty, Ruth, Joan, Mildred, and Ruby.

Memorial service were held March 16 qt the Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. 

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon, at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sunset Golf Club, Mt. Morris Senior Center, Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren, or Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
