James A. Rogers

James A. Rogers, 77, Oregon, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 in North Fort Meyers, Fla.

He was born in Lanark on Sept. 6, 1935, the son of Lloyd and Mazie Rogers.

Jim graduated high school from Lanark where he worked with his father and brothers. 

He co-founded Rogers Ready Mix with his brother Bob. 

Jim was an active member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Mayflower Society, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley Rogers. He was a loving father to daughter, Deborah (Rodney Chesmore), Beloit, Wis.; and son, Rodney (Teresa) Rogers, Oregon; and is also survived by grandchildren, Scott, Nathan, James, Kevin, Brett, Chelsey (Diehl) Rogers, Melissa Theodros, Dustin O'Conner, and Ashley Kelleher; brother Robert, (Jill); sister, Shirley Wicks; brother-in-law, Kenny Rausch; and sister-in-law. Jim was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at the Oregon United Methodist Church where Jim was a lifelong member.
