Rosemary Helene Ellis, 84, Peoria, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.
The daughter of Clarence and Alta (Zipse) Ellis, she was born Feb. 10, 1929 in Winslow.
She was a 1947 graduate of Forreston High School and attended North Central College, Naperville.
Afflicted with mental illness, Rosie spent many difficult years in Illinois state institutions.
Since 1995 she resided at Sharon Health Care Willows intermediate care nursing facility in Peoria.
She was unmarried and was the last survivor among her siblings.
Her survivors include nieces, Diane (James) Erdman, Minnesota, Anita (Tom) Roberds, Ohio, Barbara Broome, Illinois, Miriam (Robert) McKenna, California, Deb (John) Noordhoff, Illinois, and Judith (Harold) Winship, Illinois; and nephews Richard Ellis, Illinois, Vernon (Kristen) Ellis, Illinois, Mark (Lise Levie) VanRaden, Virginia, and Paul (Cheryl) VanRaden, Maryland; as well as a large number of great and grand nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, LeRoy, and Robert (Bob) Ellis; and her sister, Kathleen (Katie) VanRaden; as well as by nephews, Steven Ellis and David VanRaden.
A service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Forreston First United Methodist Church.
Her ashes will later be interred at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.
