Oregon, Polo advance in boys regional action

Oregon defeated Byron 60-46 in Class 2A Regional action Wednesday night.

Caleb Mowry led Oregon with 26 points followed by Alex Cain with 11.

Dalton Payton led Byron with 21 points.

Oregon will play unbeaten Winnebago in the regional championship game on Friday, Feb. 22. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Blackhawk Center in Oregon.

In Class 1A regional action in Polo, the Marcos defeated Forreston 65-54.

Brady Bushman led Polo with 13 points followed by AJ Dollmeyer and Zach Quaco with 12 each.

Robert DeVries scored 19 for Forreston with Justin Hughes adding 11 and Brett Carlson 10.

Polo plays Eastland for the regional championship on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Eastland defeated Ashton-Franklin Center 67-41 on Wednesday.
