Women's group makes blankets

The women's group from a local church has spent several days this month doing sewing projects.

The United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church, Forreston, met on Feb. 4, 5, 11, and 12 and spent the days cutting fabric, pressing, assembling, sewing and tying baby blankets, lap robes, comforters and making dresses from pillow cases or other fabric.

The group of 10 to 18 included not only UMW members, but also several retired men of the church and other women from the area.
